PTA has penalized UFONE to pay a fine of 150 million Rupees (15 Cror Rupees) for selling SIM without following the rules and regulations mentioned under SOP (Standard Operating Procedure). PTA Said that one of Illegal issued SIM was used in terrorism attack in Lahore.
PTA strictly warned Ufone and to pay a fine of Rs. 15 Cror which is a yet highest amount of Fine paid by any company at once in Pakistan. PTA said that Ufone did not follow 789 SOP for activation of new SIM cards. Previously Mobilink GSM paid a Fine of Rs. 6 Cror to PTA for quality concerns.
